Summer Desserts: 15 Sweet and Colorful Summer Treats // FoodNouveau.com

When summer rolls around, we know the season of lush, juicy, local fruits has arrived! Bring on the berries—raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries—I love them all. Stone fruits? Sign me up! Apricots, peaches, and ruby red cherries: they’re just begging to be eaten.

While summer fruits are a delight all on their own, who can resist stuffing them into delightful summer desserts? Not me. I say bring on the pies and crumbles! Slather everything with fruit curds! Slice up fruit-filled bars for picnics and backpacks and go exploring! Make rustic galettes oozing with fruit juices! Dress up simple cakes with fresh fruit to look stunning. Whichever way you choose to go, summer fruits will always lead you to delightful summer desserts.

And then of course, there’s gelato. Summer just isn’t summer without iced treats and you know gelato is my weakness! If you love it as much as I do and dream of making it at home, check out my How to Make Gelato article: it’s packed with tips and tricks so you can experiment with your favorite summer fruits. I’ve even got a vegan gelato recipe, which you can transform into a multitude of flavors, too!

In the meantime, I hope this juicy, fruity collection of 15 summer desserts fills you up with inspiration to make the most of this all too fleeting season!
